On these pages you can find a wealth of latest research based information on the state and development of nature in Finland.

Biodiversity.fi now includes more than 100 indicators reflecting the development of various components of biological diversity as well as factors driving these developments. Even more indicators are under development and will be added to the pages as they become available. Biodiversity.fi is financed by the Ministry of Environment and it has been developed in close cooperation by Finnish environmental research organisations and non-governmental organisations.

Year 2010 is UN's International Year of Biodiversity. The Finnish authorities have launched the logo Biodiversity - essential to life to reflect the importance of the theme for humanity.
