Status in 2018: The initiation of the re-inventory of traditional rural biotopes has been delayed, but the project is about to start soon. The plan for the inventories has been prepared and preliminary inventories have been conducted in some regions. Approximately 600 000 euros have been allocated to the project for 2019–2021. This funding is meant to cover the inventories of the entire country.

For storing and managing the inventory data of traditional rural biotopes, a national database of traditional rural biotopes has been created as a part of the ULJAS programme of the environmental administration. Guidelines for data storage have been written, and the transfer of data to the database has been started. The database wil be supplemented as the inventories proceed.
