Value of nature-based tourism
ECONOMIC VALUE
National parks has been studied to benefit local economies as it attracts people to the area and raises demand for tourism services. The importance for local economies is greatest in Lapland.

In nature-based tourism it is estimated to have 6 700 operating businessess at different sectors. Accommodation, tourism services, guide services and equipment rental and other nature-based businesses are estimated to employ people 27 000 in personnel years in 2011. The trend is rising previous estimations the numbers seem to have risen
