FO4 Artificial forest regeneration

After felling, the forest is regenertated either by planting or seeding. Planting is approximately three times more common than seeding.

Planting can be done almost throughout the summertime. The seedlings are planted in every 2 meters, so that the total number of seedlings per hectare is about 2 000-2 500.

Seeding is done soon after the when the frost has melted and soil is still moist. Seeding can be done mechanically together with soil preparation or manually. The consumption of seeds is about 0,3-0,5 kgs per hectare.
